SAN
DIEGO - The Marseille Collection from StoneImpressions
has received the coveted Platinum Award for Design
Excellence (ADEX) for 2009.
The annual ADEX Awards is the largest and most
prestigious awards program for home, office,
hospitality furnishings and building materials
marketed to the design trade. ADEX entries are
judged on five criteria: innovation, technological
advancement, quality, aesthetics and value. Three
levels of awards are possible - Platinum, Gold
and Silver, with Platinum being the highest.
An anonymous panel of professionals representing
a cross section of the design industry votes
for the ADEX Awards. ADEX judges are among the
ablest in their respective areas of expertise and
so the ADEX Award represents the best product
designs of the year in the opinion of those who
themselves reside at the top of their specialty.
“
The Marseille Collection has been incredibly well
received and it is great honor to be recognized
by the design community. We are thrilled to have
this collection chosen out of thousands of entries.
The Marseille pattern is so versatile - we have
seen it used in kitchen backsplashes, large and
small, and also scaled up for large format flooring
applications,” says Melinda Earl, founder
of StoneImpressions.
The Marseille Collection was inspired by Jacobean
embroidery, using highly stylized floral designs
with flowing vines and leaves in three color palettes.
Like other signature StoneImpressions products,
the tiles are created using an exclusive artist-developed
process for hand printing almost unlimited designs
on stone. The natural irregularities of the stone’s
color, shade and texture enhance the uniqueness
of each StoneImpressions design. The Marseille
Collection includes matching listellos and is available
in Green/Yellow and Blue/Green colors. This adaptable
and classic design is used for flooring as well
as kitchen backsplashes.
