Stone Tile Materials

StoneImpressions always uses high quality natural stone tiles from the finest quarries around the world. You can choose from Limestone, Bianco, Botticino, Travertine, Durango and Carrara in a variety of sizes. Natural stone tiles have more character and depth than ceramic tile. Stone is a product of nature and no two pieces are exactly alike. The unique natural shading and texture of each type of stone adds to the exceptional beauty of StoneImpressions’ murals, accents, listellos and floor tile.

We also offer a wide range of liners, mosaics and trim pieces to add that finishing touch to your design project. Frame your kitchen backsplash mural with our popular Dome or Rope Liner. Use the smaller, more delicate Pencil Liner to refine the look of the tile in your bath or powder room.

The rustic 6-inch Tumbled Liner is a perfect complement to any of our Landscape murals.

Don’t forget that you can order any amount of blank field tile from us to go with your mural or accent tiles. We can also print our designs on stone supplied by you. The stone must be porous with a matte or honed surface and cannot be coated or have a glossy finish.

Not suitable for outdoor use. Tiles are water resistant, not water-proof. Indicate on your order tiles that will be used on floors or in wet areas.

Assembly: All murals are shipped unassembled and each stone is numbered on the reverse side for installation.
Cleaning and Care: Use a soft cloth, warm water and non-abrasive cleaner, such as mild soap. Avoid any care products which contain abrasives, phosphoric acids, scouring powders, chlorine, acetone or glycolic acids. Mild cleaning will preserve the stones for a longer time.
Grouting: Grouting is a matter of personal preference. Grouting the entire image (especially with unfilled travertine) will fill the natural holes in the stone, causing the image to become randomly spotted with grout. A grout bag may be used to grout only the joint lines of the mural, thereby avoiding the spots of grout. A third option is to not grout at all. Simply position the tiles right next to each other.
Sealing: The patterns, murals, accents and listellos are pre-sealed by StoneImpressions and do not require further sealants. For sealing the grout or stones around the StoneImpressions products, we have tested and recommend (when used according to the manufacturer’s instructions):  Aqua Mix Grout Sealer, Aqua Mix Penetrating Sealer and Aqua Mix Grout Cleaner. Test first on a small sample of tile.
Installation spaces: StoneImpressions products are intended for interior installations only.  StoneImpressions is water resistant, but not waterproof.  When you place your order indicate, tiles that will be used on floors or in wet areas.

Advisory regarding installing natural stone products near wet areas:
Stone is VERY porous. Our product is sealed on the TOP ONLY. If tile is to be used in a steamy area or near water you must seal the sides and back using a high quality WATER based penetrating sealer. NEVER USE SOLVENT BASED SEALERS. Please be sure to dry the tiles immediately after cutting and seal all cut edges. After installation, seal all tile and grout lines with a water based penetrating sealer. Follow maintenance schedule recommended by sealer manufacturer. Never leave uninstalled tiles submerged in water. No warranty, express or implied,is made for the longevity of cut stone, even with the application of additional sealer. No allowances or claims will be accepted for damage to cut stone. StoneImpressions does not warranty, and will not be responsible for any claims regarding sealers.

Moisture Barrier Disclaimer: When stone is installed on a concrete slab at ground level, it is the responsibility of the buyer and installer to ensure that a proper moisture barrier is in place prior
to installation.
Variation and Uniformity: We have represented the color and character of the products in this catalog as accurately as possible, however, due to the inherent nature of the photographic and printing processes, there may be s
ome variation in the colors or textures of the actual product from what appears on the printed page. Always contact an authorized StoneImpressions dealer for current samples before ordering. Variations of shade and color are inherent in any natural stone product. No two pieces are exactly alike. Certain types of stone tiles have naturally occurring holes or veins running through them. Your product will have surface variations throughout the design. All natural stones have unique natural variations and inclusions that are impossible to show in a photograph or sample. For this reason, all items should be unpacked and inspected prior to installation, as StoneImpressions cannot accept claims for variation in any stone after installation.
Inspection: Please inspect your order immediately upon delivery. Installation is absolute acceptance of the order.
Damage in transit: External damage to the carton must be noted on the delivery receipt. It is your responsibility to inspect the boxes upon receipt and tell the shipping company about any damage. Damaged boxes do no
t always indicate damage to the contents, but it will simplify a claim if damage is discovered upon opening the carton. Please notify us of any damages within 24 hours of receipt of damaged items. Keep the damaged items and all packaging material so that they can be inspected by the shipper if necessary. We will make arrangements with you to
return damaged pieces and send replacement pieces.
Returns: Due to the custom nature of our products most items cannot be returned. StoneImpressions will allow returns at its own discretion. If a return is authorized for any reason other than defects or an
ordering error on our part, a 30% restocking fee will be charged.
• All returns require prior authorization.
• No refund or replacement will be given for items returned without prior consent.
We must receive returned merchandise in new, unused and undamaged condition in order for a replacement or refund to be issued. If returned goods are damaged in transit to us, no refunds will be made by us. We will notify the purchaser and the shipper, but it is the responsibility of the sender to collect recompense from the shipper’s insurer.
